MXT Makery

Hello and welcome to MXT Makery! I've recently opened my online store @ www.mxtmakery.com. I have decided to make art a part of my daily life and I focus on mixed media because I usually can't stick to just one type of art. While I love painting and drawing and collage, I also love print making and pastel and embroidery as well. What you'll see in my artwork is a bit of all of that mixed together!

The first series I added to the website is the Pathways series. They are prints made on a hand-made gelatin plate. All are embellished with hand-stitched embroidery and most have additional detailing with colored pencil. The lines in the prints were made with strings that were laid on the plate creating ghost lines in the prints and and liked the way they crossed and intersected as the paths in our lives do with all the people we meet along the way. They could also represent all the paths taken or not taken in life. One thing you will notice consistently in my work is a lot of color.
