Grieving Is Breathing
We Grieve, We Breathe, And In The End: We Heal. https://www.grievingisbreathing.com
As your worldwide grief guide, I’m experienced in places to cry. In grief, there’s so many places to cry and you’ve probably found so many other places to let those tears flow.
Side effects of grief may include loss of sleep, anxiety, irritability, loss of happiness, and so many more.
Even though we makes some jokes, there’s a whole lot of truth in this
Grief hits at all times. Especially at night. I’m sure you’ve been here. Maybe woken out of your sleep or just sitting there because you can’t sleep or maybe even feeling if you do sleep you may not make it.
Grief shows up at when it wants. Not really anything we can do about that, but we can learn what to do when it does show. Be it breathing work, or coping mechanisms, we can still operate in grief.
But that doesn’t mean when it hits at 3AM it’s any less ghetto
It can feel like grief is attacking you at every moment, even if that moment feels extremely small.
There’s joy in grief but it’s important to know it can switch quickly especially in moments you are happy.
It’s worth noting the both grief and joy coexist and will for the remainder of our lives.
Let grief be there, even in moments we don’t want it to be. Recognizing this is important in helping us understand and process our own grief
There’s are things we will do alike in our grief, but that doesn’t mean we should be alone as we experience all of these things.
When we grieve, we need community. We need our friends and we need our family and we need them to show up. And if they do and they continue to show up for us again and again, it helps with grieving. So allow them to be there for you
However, there are times where you will need to reach out and say “hey I’m not doing well, and I really need some love or support” because they may not realize how bad your grief is even if they have been checking in on you and showing up for you.
So will we grieve part of grief alone? Most definitely. It allows us to process our grief and heal. But should we deal with grief alone, completely? We shouldn’t have to
Are you sure you’re done grieving, because grief would like to have a word with you.
Grief is. A binding contract. There’s no get out of grief free card.
If you’re wondering if you will be reminded of them at random things, the answer is absolutely yes. And it feels random but it’s really your brain associates your person with a scent, smell, event and many more things you haven’t recognized.
We do so many things with our loved ones again and again, our brain stores that’s. It’s not that we forget, but it’s not called to mind until grief is there.
So get ready, because a cherry tomato can and will trigger grief
Grief changes depending our on our closeness and relationship with that person.
That’s why grief is still new because it’s not the same person. Grief is different from the loss of a sibling to a parent. From a spouse to a child.
And it throws your for a loop because no matter how well you may have done with previous grief, this grief is different and will change how interact with it.
It’s a natural part of grief. And remember: give yourself as much kindness and compassion as you can. It’s worth it
