Don’t forget about how many things are made of plastic or glass! Including hair brushes, hair ties, contact lense containers, etc. 🥤✂️ While they might seem small, every little bit helps. By recycling these items, you’re contributing to a circular economy that values sustainability.

We are SO honored to have been nominated for the 2026 SustainPHL awards category "Impact Business of the Year".

The 9th annual SustainPHL returns on Thursday, October 29 at the German Society of Pennsylvania!

Known as Philly’s “Green Oscars,” SustainPHL brings together the region’s sustainability community for one of our favorite nights of the year. Meet the changemakers, businesses, nonprofits and civic leaders moving Philadelphia forward, while enjoying an open bar, dinner, networking, our Munch & Learn and, of course, the SustainPHL awards.

The challenges we face are global, but so many of the solutions start locally. Come celebrate the people putting “think global, act local” into action.

Early Bird tickets are available now!

Cleaning your recyclable materials is essential for effective recycling. Contaminants like food residue can spoil entire batches, leading to more waste in landfills. Here are a few quick tips to keep your recyclables clean and ready for reuse!

First, rinse your containers thoroughly. A quick wash with warm water works wonders for plastic bottles. For sticky residues, a bit of dish soap can help. Glass jars should be rinsed well too, don't worry too much about labels, but make sure they’re clean!

Next, drying your recyclables is key. Excess moisture can cause mold, and we hand sort materials so keeping things dry is best practice. Air drying on a dish rack or towel is an easy solution.
