The Eye Institute’s doctors and optometric interns partnered with Centene to make glasses at the 2026 Black Men’s Wellness Day. They saw 200 and distributed glasses to 187!

In a survey from July 2021 to December 2023, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention found that half of adolescents aged 12 - 17 had at least four hours of screen time per day. With this amount of screen time used by children and adolescents, teachers and parents alike are asking the question: how are screens affecting children’s vision?

Primary eye care providers looking for an evidence-based tool to treat amblyopia now have a road map. And a pediatric eye doctor from The Eye Institute (TEI) of Drexel University helped develop the research that made the tool possible.

Winding down the school year at Deep Roots Charter School as we partnered with Education Plus to provide vision services.

Last Saturday, a road near The Eye Institute was dedicated in honor of former PCO/Salus board member, Shirley Gregory, a 49th Ward leader.

All clinical facilities will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. Eye doctors at The Eye Institute want to help spread awareness about both of these conditions and the effects they can have on the eyes.
