Non threaded downrods have a tendency to result in a fan with slight movement, especially when the rod is different than the manufacturer recommended rod. Adding an epoxy can be useful if you’re able to guarantee it sets fully seated.

We recommend always getting the rod from the same manufacturer which also keeps in alignment with warranty coverage.
