Today, I’m especially grateful for my father and the lessons he taught me. Growing up, I often felt he was the smartest and strongest man on the planet. A perfectionist at heart, a stellar and accomplished athlete, and incredibly talented artist, he taught me far more than skills. He taught me confidence, resilience, hard work, and the importance of showing up for the people you love. He seems to know something about everything, and he taught me the value of lifelong learning. Most importantly, he taught me mental toughness and strength. The kind of strength that helps you persevere and become the best version of yourself.

As a business owner, I see how strong families help build strong communities. Fathers often lead by example, investing their time, wisdom, and love into the next generation. Their impact reaches far beyond their own families and helps make our communities better places to live, work, and grow.

Anchored in greatness. One of the most privileged and unforgettable moments of my life was standing beside two extraordinary women, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Dr. Betty Shabazz, the wife of Malcom X.

Looking back at this photo, I am reminded that true greatness is not measured by titles, accolades, or recognition. It is measured by character, courage, faith, love, sacrifice, and the willingness to give of yourself so that future generations may thrive.

As wives, mothers, leaders, and champions for justice, these remarkable leaders, mothers, and champions, carried their families and communities with extraordinary grace and strength. They showed the world what it means to nurture a vision, protect a legacy, and pour into others during a very difficult time. Their example reminds me that motherhood is one of the most powerful forms of leadership; rooted in service, faith, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the next generation.

To have shared a moment in time with women of such wisdom, dignity, and influence is blessing I will always cherish. Their lives continue to inspire me to give more, love deeper, serve faithfully, and walk with purpose.
