The vision of MIA is to create a level playing field where millennials play a substantive role in the region’s politics.
Often times, electoral politics discounts the voices of the young and newly registered voters from the numerous political conversations and the multilayered democratic process; despite having the energy, motivation, and numbers to sway any political conversation. Philadelphia is currently in the process of City Council redistricting. According to the 2020 Census, Philadelphia’s⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
population is just over 1.6 million, meaning that⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
there should be about 160,000 Philadelphians⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
in each district. District 10 is currently is within a desirable range for the redistricting process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
