Tip 8: Even if your child stonewalls you or appears uninterested in these conversations, it’s your job to keep talking.
Tip 7: Telling your child not to have s*x isn’t enough. Explain why you believe delaying s*x is the right choice.
Tip 6: Don’t assume that, because your child is asking you about s*x, contraception, or dating, that they are s*xually active.
Tip 5: Talk honestly with your child about s*x, love, and relationships; you don’t have to be a text book. Just be real.
Tip 4: Listen as much as you talk. It's important to make sure that your child knows their voice is being heard and respected.
Tip 3: Don’t assume that your child’s emotions aren’t valid. Respect your child if they tell you that they are in love.
Tip 2:Cultivate openness; be an AskableAdult & allow your child to share their feelings without fear of reprisal or derision
Tip 1: Talk with your child about s*x early & often. Be specific about your family’s values & expectations about s*x & dating.
