Got my father's day gift early! Took me a few hours to put it together, but guess who's got the parts to make it functional? Yup! Me! I'll probably be doing that over the weekend!

Can you guess why my username is PaperSnake?
This is part of my METAL GEAR SOLID Collection... I also have Revengeance and the HD Collection/PW digital on Xbox 360, and my PS3 HD Collection is in my brother's house. Just missing the actual PSP games, VR missions, Special Editions, Survive, and my holy grail Twin Snakes, which I owned but sold it to Richard Cortez YEARS ago and regret it till this day. The way MGS looks and plays like MGS2 is AMAZING, and sad it's stuck on the Gamecube.
I asked Gemini to change the background and it did not disappoint!

This looks niiiiiiice I'm about to get this OS for my Dreamcast! Already looked it up with Gemini, it's called Ascencion.
Gemini's reply:
That looks like Ascension, which is actually a specialized build of openMenu for the Dreamcast GDEMU. It has been getting a lot of attention recently for how much it modernizes the console's UI compared to the old, clunky GDMenu we used to use.
Since you're running the GDEMU 5.20 (which is perfect because it has the best compatibility for these newer menu systems), you can definitely get yours looking like that.
What makes it different?
Unlike the traditional list-based menus, Ascension (and the latest openMenu forks) supports:
High-res Box Art: It pulls images for your games so you can scroll through a visual library.
Virtual Folders: You can finally organize your games by genre or letter instead of one giant scrolling list.
Custom Themes: It’s highly skinable, allowing for that "modern OS" look you saw.
How to get it
To set it up, you’ll want to use the GDMENU Card Manager on your PC. Here is the general workflow:
Download openMenu: Look for the latest "ateam" fork of openMenu (often bundled as the Virtual Folder Bundle).
Prepare your SD Card: Use the GDMENU Card Manager (v2.0 or later is recommended).
Add Art: You’ll need to put your box art into the menu/art folder on your SD card. The Card Manager can often automate this for you.
Replace the Menu: You replace the standard GDMenu.cdi on your SD card with the openMenu.cdi (renamed to GDMenu.cdi or placed in slot 01 depending on your setup).
It’s a huge step up from the basic text lists, especially if you're like most of us and have a massive SD card filled with the entire library.

Weekend & mid-week little project 1
My wife and I went to a Goodwill about an hour from home, and I saw this little DVD portable player, it even came with the remote. Only problem was it didn't have the 9V AC adapter.... Which was not really a problem.
I opened it up and added a USB-C PD Trigger Board. First I tested it out with my multimeter and glad I did because none of the voltages from the switches was what it said, and I only needed 9V, not 20V and fry it on first use.
Made a small hole with my dremel. Added some hot glue and a little plastic support on the inside and... IT'S ALIVE!
I was able to hook up my Gamecube and play a few rounds of Mario Kart with my wife 😂

MWAHAHAHAHA *COUGH COUGH*
IT'S ALIVE! (Dr. Frankenstein voice)
Made a Roku rechargeable remote with a USB-C adapter and a Nintendo Switch Joycon battery. Now to get one of those cheap silicon covers or add a Keychain or something so it won't get lost. And clean the remote, didn't even do that trying to see if it would work 😅
Thanks Nego Indy for the remote!
