TutorChatLive

TutorChatLive.org (TCL) is a 501(c)(3) organization that connects volunteer tutors with middle and high school students through a customized, real-time chat platform on our website. TCL aims to redefine online and on-demand tutoring by removing barriers for students to receive out-of-the-classroom support. Since launching in February, 2010, TCL has acquired over 18,000 registered student users, received over 6,000 tutoring chat requests from students, and offered over 2,000 hours of service. Unlike traditional tutoring services, TCL provides tutoring in 53 subject areas, the most popular of which are pre-algebra, chemistry, and middle school math, science, and English. Moreover, TCL’s volunteer tutors do not present students with pre-determined curricula. Instead, tutors guide students through specific questions that students pose about classroom concepts. Our volunteers range from high school and college students to veterans and university professors.
