Our Founder and CEO, Dr. Ariel Lajara was honored with the Administrator of the Year award from the Pennsylvania Association of Hispanic School Administrators; a recognition that honors the resilience and brilliance of every student, teacher, and family he’s had the privilege to serve in his 20+ year career. In his speech, he shared his truth shaped by two powerful women in his life—his mother and high school teacher—who taught him, in different languages, the same lesson: Never let desperation change your destination; the theme of his speech.

As Hispanic leaders, we carry generations of grit and love, and we’re not here to maintain broken systems—we’re here to transform them. A reminder to all that our students don’t need pity; they need power, belonging, and schools that prepare the world for them.

Thrilled and honored to accept Dr. Frank ‘Tick’ Coleman Award! Grateful for the recognition and excited to continue making a positive impact in education and the community at large through the support and leadership of our city’s Mayor, Cherelle Parker.
