Have you been to this picture perfect little town in Georgia? It’s so charming it kinda feels like you’ve stepped into a painting, a world away from a big city. Except, Atlanta is just an hour and a half away! There’s so much to see in the area, a perfect day would be- Hike Minnehaha Falls first, then grab some food and drinks in Lakemont at The Open Door at Alley’s Ol’ Store, then explore the small town on foot from there. You can also grab lunch at one of the nearby restaurants by Lake Rabun. Better still, you can either picnic in the park adjacent to town in Lakemont, or go to the Lake Rabun Recreational Beach for swimming and picnics! If you have more day left, you’re in luck! You can visit nearby Clayton, GA. Which has way more than Lakemont in the way of shopping and eating 😉, stay overnight in nearby Tiger, GA at the Cascade Inn & Waterfall Retreat, and even catch a movie at the Tiger Drive-in. On your way back home the next morning, stop by Tallulah Gorge State Park for some of the best hiking and views in the southeast! That’s honestly just a start. A friend of ours, @vivianeguerra, will also soon be starting doing tours in the area and will be taking folks to these spots and more completely hidden gems nearby.
