Which donkey is the mini? Did you know that standard donkeys vary in size and sometimes are not much bigger than a mini? ANSWER: The mini is on the left.

We decided to post some signs pointing the way to two of our favorite organizations: 1. PVDR headquarters in San Angelo, TX and 2. Oklahoma State University - in particular, the veterinary program!

Chile, Tinkerbell, and Elrond have been adopted and moved to their new home in Oklahoma. The family had previously received a young donkey, Cookie, from a neighbor. They knew he needed a family, so they adopted three PVDR donkeys. I love the photo of Cookie looking at his new friends through the corral panels.

100 donkeys! 100 moments of joy!

05/26/2026

With the adoption of Elrond, Ted and Shelia's Perry, OK Satellite Adoption Center has now helped 100 Peaceful Valley donkeys continue their journey home since 2021.

Every donkey that passes through their gates is met with patience, kindness, and care. These two have opened up not only their property, but their hearts to help donkeys in need.

Satellite Adoption Centers like theirs are a vital part of our mission, and we simply couldn't do this work without people willing to give these donkeys a safe place to land along the way.

This milestone represents 100 donkeys given a second chance and 100 journeys continued. Thank you for everything you do for the donkeys🧡

Two of the new donkeys, Smoke and Elrond, enjoy some hay. Both donkeys are available for adoption.

Shelia took this fun shot from the other side of the creek of Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine students and teachers as they meet the new donkeys.

We adopted Jacob and Loki several years ago. They have been a constant source of entertainment for us. In this picture they are playing tug of war with a rubber chicken. They will tug until the head pops off! It is our hope that others will encounter the joy we have experienced as PVDR adopters.
