Uhura is a black AQHA 2022 mare that stands 14.3HH.

She has just recently been started under saddle. She’s had a late start in life due to owners time constraints. She’s is very much a sweet puppy dog who desires human interaction. Not scared of anything with an easy going mindset. She’ll be your steady eddy type you can throw anyone on. While she’ll do most anything you ask of her, she much prefers the slower more relaxed things in life (don’t we all).

She came in a little on the thin side and still needs to gain more weight and muscle. Therefore we haven’t pushed her hard and have taken it very steady but consistent with her. W/T/C with ease, and started on basic maneuvers. Trail rides great and prefers it over arena work. Rides alone or with others.

She stands cross tied, hard tied, ground tied. Stands to be groomed, bathed, tacked up, for fly spray and for the farrier. Loads and unloads easily.

If you need a solid citizen that you’ll be able to trust and just have fun on and look good while doing it?! This is your horse! Want a horse you can trust your kids or your grandparents around. This is her! Want a horse that’ll run to you every time she sees you, this is it!

🦴 Bones 🦴

Bones is a 10 year old Devils Garden buckskin gelding that stands 14.3HH.

He came in somewhat halter broke. He has spent the last two months learning to be a domestic citizen. He has come so far but still has a ways to go. He is very much still a project as he is still timid of people. He will need a slow and steady approach to finish out his training. He has a solid mind but seems to maybe of had a bad run in with people in the past. His owner acquired him in hopes to have time to work with him and unfortunately life got in the way. So she sent him here to get a solid foundation to help find him a solid and soft landing. He is a sweet heart with a soft demeanor.

He stands for grooming, ties in cross ties or hard ties, stands for tacking, baths, fly spray. Does all the ground work and lunges well. Has been ground driven and has been started under saddle and will continue that until he leaves.

I’d be happy to continue his training for his new owners if they have the desire to keep him here longer.

He is a handsome horse with a sturdy build paired with a mane to die for.

West is a 13.3HH black 4 year old QH cross.

West came in with some strong opinions about domestication. He has learned that it’s not so bad after all but still has is concerns.
West can currently lunge, stands for grooming, farrier, baths, fly spray, and tacking up. We have started working on basic obstacles. He has also shown that his favorite thing to do is sit around and watch other horses work in the lesson program.

He is very much a pleaser, but has his reservations about most things. Given time and consistency he picks up on most things very easily.

My schedule is currently very booked, so my ability to work him has been limited to about 1 day per week if I’m lucky. He is by no means an outlaw, and has a great head on him. I look for him to be a stellar kids pony eventually.

He has shown that he is very sensitive to bugs and came in from turn out broke out. So he needs strong fly/bug spray and fly sheets/gear when not stalled at night.

However, there may be a possibility we drop from competition as my time is limited and I have no desire to rush him due to my current limitation. We’ll see what the next few weeks infold for this guy.

Monday resets = a new chapter for each horse.

And new pattern practice begins!

What a fun weekend showing at the May IRHA show. This show was about finding this years baseline, having fun, and getting some new people and horses in the show pen for the first time. Congrats to our competitors for surviving and continuing to build partnerships with your horse. Now we have a solid understanding of the key things that need attention and we’ll be back in the ring in 3 weeks.
