NECS is closed today in observance of Yom Kippur.

Because we follow the local school schedule, our programs are taking a day of rest and reflection.

Yom Kippur, known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the Jewish year. It is a time for reflection, forgiveness, reconciliation, and thinking about how we can move forward with greater intention and care for one another.

Our fall season starts tomorrow, with all classes beginning for the season!

After three months of traveling the world, our founder and Executive Director, Ridvan Idara, is sharing her journey through photography. 🌎📸

Join us this weekend for the opening of her photo exhibit, featuring moments, places, and perspectives captured along the way.

The exhibit will be on display through November at the NECS Gallery.

Did you know NECS has a class just for homeschool students? 🧱🎨

Bricks & Brushes combines LEGO building with drawing and painting, giving K–5 students a chance to create, experiment, and use their imaginations.

At NECS, high school students get to explore the arts through hands-on experiences that let them create, experiment, and build new skills.

Film. Photography. Digital art. Theater. Design. Mentoring.
There’s room to try something new, get better at something you already love, and see where it takes you.

Build. Create. Learn. Grow.

Slöyd is a hands-on woodworking program where students ages 8–14 build real projects, learn practical skills, and gain confidence along the way.

Through a carefully structured curriculum and individualized instruction, students learn woodworking techniques while developing focus, independence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of accomplishment. Safety and personal growth are at the heart of the program, along with the joy of making something with your own hands. 🔨✨

We closed out Summer 2026 with one of our core values: joy. 💛

There was plenty of laughing, dancing, celebrating, and making memories with our campers and staff. This has been such a special summer, and we are so grateful for everyone who made it what it was.

We are especially grateful to the local businesses and organizations that welcomed our campers, shared in these experiences, and helped make this summer even more special.

We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again as our Fall programs start rolling out in September.
