Corporate gifting was one of my favorite ways to grow Blondery because, at its core, the model is pretty simple: instead of finding 300 individual customers to buy 300 individual products, one company pays you to make the same thing for 300 people.
That company is essentially paying you to acquire new customers.
Your product lands on 300 desks, doorsteps, or kitchen counters. Three hundred people experience your brand, many for the first time, and you didn’t pay to reach any of them. You got paid.
Some of you are following me today because your company sent you Blondery years ago.
That’s why I think more product-based businesses should understand corporate gifting, not just as a way to land a big order, but as a revenue and customer acquisition strategy.
I’m breaking down everything I learned over nearly a decade in Your First Corporate Gift Order, my new 5-week series on Auzerais, Unboxed.
Lessons 1 + 2 are live now.

To be clear: I don’t think everyone needs to quit their job and start a business.
You can be entrepreneurial inside corporate America. You can learn how to negotiate, build relationships, make yourself valuable, move strategically, and climb the corporate ladder. That’s a skill set too and not everyone knows how to do it.
My larger point is about agency.
Learn how to create options for yourself.
That might mean building a business. It might mean turning your knowledge into income. It might mean becoming exceptionally good at navigating corporate America. It might mean doing all three at different points in your life.
The liberation is in knowing you are not completely dependent on one person, one company, one paycheck, or one path to determine what happens to you next.
If you like how I think, there’s more where this came from ↓

My content on shipping perishables is still some of my top-performing content on YouTube because shipping fragile, temperature sensitive items really is a science. If you’re trying to figure it out, start there. Then head over to my Substack, where I break it down even further with more in-depth tutorials and strategies.

When I was packing to leave the U.S., I stumbled upon an old journal and this entry I wrote at 26.
Reading it ten years later felt like proof of who I’ve always been and who I’m still becoming.
In the last decade I moved to New York for a pastry chef job. I quit without a backup plan. I cleaned houses. I became a lifestyle manager. I worked at Food Network. I freelanced. I rented out my apartment to make things work. I eventually started Blondery, built it into something bigger than I could have imagined, and then had to let it go.
I love to say I’ve “lived many lives,” but ultimately, I’ve only lived ✨my✨ life.
I spent the last ten years pushing, pulling, breaking, crumbling, rebuilding and swinging really big.
If I could hug 26-year-old me, I’d tell her: Your world is going to get so much bigger than you can imagine.
And then I’d thank her. For quitting. For trying. For risking. For starting over. For refusing to stay anywhere her spirit had already outgrown. For every decision that eventually carried me here.
At 36, I am confident that whenever my life is over, I will be able to say I did the things I wanted to do, said the things I wanted to say, went where I wanted to go, and lived the life I wanted to live.
My spirit has never really allowed me to do anything else 🤷🏾♀️
I’m deeply thankful for this life, for the people in it, and especially for this newfound freedom abroad.
Cheers to 36 and whatever the hell comes next. 🥂
And if you’d like to send a birthday drink my way, make it a Carajillo via the link in my bio. 🤎 And while you’re at it, order one for yourself. Trust me on this one. 😉

The biggest companies are replacing people with kiosks, AI, and robotics in their brick-and-mortar locations. To me, that has always signaled something bigger: even the companies with the deepest pockets are struggling to make the traditional brick-and-mortar model financially sustainable. What do you think?
