I was glad to attend the monthly Coffee with Cops event hosted by the Alvin Police Department earlier this week. It’s always great to see the overwhelming support from our community at events like this.

I’m proud to support the Alvin Police Department and all of the departments throughout Brazoria County. The work they do every day to keep our communities safe truly matters.

Charisse and I were proud to sponsor the Alvin College Foundation 4th Annual Designer Bag Bingo. From everything I heard, it absolutely lived up to the hype. A packed room, lots of laughs, and I’m sure some very competitive bingo players all going after those designer bags.

With over 500 attendees, it’s incredible to see that kind of support, especially knowing the funds raised will go directly toward scholarships through the Alvin College Foundation and the impact it will have on students in our community.

Events like this are a win all the way around!

I recently joined a panel in Nacogdoches alongside fellow legislators, led by Texas Water Development Board Director Ashley Morgan, to discuss the future of water in our district. The message was clear: We cannot afford to wait!

From water reuse and wastewater treatment to addressing years of municipal neglect, our infrastructure needs serious investment and forward-thinking solutions.

The City of Pearland is already stepping up—reinvesting in redevelopment and prioritizing water independence so we’re not simply reliant on Houston. But this isn’t something any one city can tackle alone.

As we often hear from the state: “We hear you—but you need to do your part too.”

That’s the reality. Progress requires partnership. When the state and local municipalities work together, we can stop the leaks—both in our pipes and in our progress—and build a stronger, more sustainable future for every resident.

Had a great time celebrating Memorial Hermann Pearland’s 10-year anniversary yesterday.

Pretty amazing to see how much this facility has grown and the impact it’s had on families in our community over the years. Big thanks to all the healthcare professionals who show up every day and make that happen.
