Originally designed in 1953 by architect Foster Rhodes Jackson, a protégé and student of Frank Lloyd Wright, The Summit House is a remarkable expression of organic modernism. Jackson carried forward Wright’s philosophy of integrating architecture with its environment, evident in the home’s dramatic masonry, warm wood detailing, expansive glass walls, and effortless indoor-outdoor connection. Recently restored and expanded by Barbara Bestor, the residence honors its mid-century roots while embracing contemporary living. It’s not simply a home—it’s a living piece of architectural history.
