Great day at the Homestead for these 3rd graders from Providence School. Diva, our potbelly pig, finally made an appearance as a follow-up to their class reading adventure, Charlotte’s Web.

This is the kind of community stuff we love.

Stearns Homestead.

Parma Area Kiwanis.

Students from Old Brook High.

Local families.

Kids.

Animals.

And a couple hours spent actually doing something together.

On Thursday, October 8, Parma Area Kiwanis is hosting Bring a Kid to the Farm.

The first hour is all about exploring the farm and visiting the animals.

The second hour, parents and kids will build a Stearns Homestead replica brick kit together.

And the Old Brook High students who helped develop the kit will be there helping families put it together.

Nobody is required to buy anything.

We just want families to come out and enjoy the evening.

That’s community.

Jocelyn and her nurses from 2 and 7 surgical, University Hospitals, Parma came to volunteer this afternoon! This powerhouse group of women knocked out cleaning our chicken coop and waterproofed some of our new fencing.
It was a beautiful day of teamwork and fellowship that is much appreciated by the volunteers and our animals.
Parma, you are in great hands with this crew of nurses!

Our mobile farm was a big hit at the Seven Hills Fall Festival this weekend. A fun time for all and we were happy to be a part of it.

Pete and Pancake were our farm animal representatives to receive blessings today at St Francis Church for all our animals. 🙏

Good times today! Our second time with our mobile farm at Elyria Friends Church fall picnic. A great sense of community. Thanks for having us be a part of your event.

Sometimes the best events are the simple ones.

Bring your kid.

Visit some animals.

Build something together.

Spend a couple hours without rushing to the next thing.

Parma Area Kiwanis is hosting Bring a Kid to the Farm at Stearns Homestead on Thursday, October 8.

From 5:00–6:00 PM, families can walk around the farm and visit the animals.

Then from 6:00–7:00 PM, you’ll sit down together and build a Stearns Homestead replica brick kit.

The students from Old Brook High who helped develop the kit will also be there to help.

And just so it’s clear:

This is not a fundraiser disguised as a family event.

You do not have to buy the kit.

Come spend some time with your kid, enjoy Stearns Homestead, meet some people from Parma Area Kiwanis and learn a little more about what we do in the community.
