Meet Scarlett Burklow Huang, one of our 2026–2027 HOSA Vice Presidents! 🩺💙

Scarlett is a junior in the Class of 2028 and hopes to become a neurologist someday. 🧠 Her dream school is Harvard, where she hopes to continue working toward a future in medicine.

Meet Abbie Smits, our 2026–2027 HOSA Secretary/Treasurer! 🩺💙

Abbie is a junior in the Class of 2028 and hopes to become a radiologist someday. 🩻 She would love to attend college outside of Kentucky, but she’s keeping an open mind about where her future takes her!

Meet Brooke Goebel, our 2026–2027 HOSA Social Media Chairperson! 🩺💙

Brooke is a junior in the Class of 2028 and hopes to become an anesthesiologist. She is still deciding where she wants to attend college, but she plans to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level. ⚽️

Meet Tanner Lutz, our 2026–2027 HOSA Co-President 🩺💙

Tanner is a senior in the Class of 2027 with plans to pursue a career as a radiologist 🩻. After his BCHS graduation, he hopes to continue his education at the University of Kentucky. 💙🤍

😂 Fun fact: He can make his shoulder blades stick out really far on command!

As he heads into his senior year, Tanner has a big goal for HOSA: use the opportunities available through our chapter to get a head start on college, prepare for his future, and learn more about himself along the way.

Hello 2026-2027!

I definitely forgot to take pictures Tuesday but I did get some of us dissecting pig hearts yesterday and using the laparoscopic surgery simulators on Wednesday with Ms. Amy and Ms. Julianna from North Central AHEC.

And today we were treated to a tour of our local hospital - Mr. Haggard and Ms. April were wonderful hosts!! We came back to lunch, ice cream, crafts and slime-making - which might have been their favorite activity of the week!

Thank you to North Central KY AHEC and Centerpoint Health - Paris for helping make our Mini Medical Camp a fun time for everyone!!

Day 1 of our Mini Medical Camp was a success! They learned lot about infection control..and they were inserting IVs at the end of the day (on a fake arm!)
