Specializing in high risk pregnancies, robotic surgery, and midwifery care. Dr. Hakimi is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Ob/Gyn. He is the Founder and Medical Director of Ob/Gyn & Infertility Services of Northern NJ. Dr. Hakimi's practice is unique in a sense that many women from upstate NY to Pennsylvania seek his skills and services. Among the many services offered, Dr. Hakimi excels in Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgery (eg. Extensive Resection of Endometriosis off of colon, and Bilateral Ureterolysis to completely rid of endometriosis.) He is one of very few Gyn Surgeons capable to perform such procedures in the entire NY metropolitan area. Additionally, he is a trained and certified Robotic surgeon. Dr. Hakimi is also known for his success in Complicated Obstetrical & Gynecological Surgeries. For instance, many women having the diagnosis of multiple cesarean sections or Placenta Previa/Acreta/Percreta are told by their Ob/Gyns to seek their care elsewhere. Taking care of a woman with her 10th cesarean or a very complicated placenta accreta/percreta is a common practice for him. Additionally, Dr. Hakimi is one of the very few physicians in the entire metropolitan area who is skilled with the art of Forceps, Vaginal Breech Deliveries, and very difficult VBACs). Over the years many young woman have been carefully guided by Dr. Hakimi through their high risk pregnancies because of his success and special interest in this fascinating area of medicine.

โจ Another mother. Another baby. Another family safely home. โจ
Today we welcomed Esther back for her postpartum visit. She and her baby boy are doing wonderfullyโand she even brought her famous homemade cookies. ๐ช
Just weeks earlier, Esther traveled from South Jersey after being referred to Dr. Hakimi for evaluation of suspected placenta accretaโa rare and potentially life-threatening pregnancy complication.
Late that evening, Dr. Hakimi and sonographer Julia performed an urgent ultrasound that revealed findings highly suspicious for placenta accreta and an extremely thin uterus at imminent risk of rupture.
Recognizing the danger, Dr. Hakimi immediately coordinated care and assembled a specialized multidisciplinary surgical team.
The decision proved lifesaving.
During surgery, severe placental invasion and uterine separation were confirmed. A healthy baby boy was delivered safely, and Esther made an excellent recovery.
