NJBPU has officially opened the pre-qualification window for Tranche 2 of Phase 1 of the Garden State Energy Storage Program (GSESP).

Energy storage projects are essential for enhancing grid reliability, improving efficiency, shifting energy use away from high-cost peak hours, and promoting a more affordable energy future for New Jersey residents and businesses. This program also supports Governor Sherrill’s affordability agenda through Executive Order No. 1 and addresses New Jersey’s utility cost-related energy emergency as outlined in Executive Order No. 2 by expanding flexible power resources across the state.

🗓️ Key deadlines for the program include:
- Pre-qualification window opened: May 20, 2026
- Final bid submission deadline: August 7, 2026
- Board decision on bids: October 28, 2026
