One of our Chiefs was out in his neighborhood walking and noticed some smoke coming out of a nearby home. On a quick investigation he saw smoke and fire inside. The Paramus FD was able to respond quickly, force entry and keep the fire to the originating room. Smoke had filled the entire home. The home was under renovation so there was no one living there at the time and everyone went home. Fire is currently under investigation. Thank you to all of the mutual aid that covered Paramus while we were at the scene.

🚒 Training Night Highlights – Monday Drill 🚒

Monday night, members of the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department participated in a productive hands‑on training session at the new apartment complex located on Vermella Way.

The evening began with basic ropes and knots training, reinforcing essential skills used across many emergency operations. Following that, members currently working toward their Confined Space Operations certification took part in a more detailed, hands‑on scenario‑based training to build confidence and proficiency.

A big thank you to Russo Development for generously allowing us to use their property for this important drill. Community partnerships like this help keep our firefighters prepared and our residents safe.

🚒 Paramus Volunteer Fire Department at the PHS Career Fair! 🚒

Today, members of the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department were proud to be set up at the Paramus High School Career Fair as part of our ongoing effort to recruit new members. It was great meeting so many students and community members who stopped by our table to learn more, ask questions, and check out our equipment.

A huge thank you to everyone who came by to say hello and show interest, your support means a lot to us!

Because of the blizzard, several members of the department stood by at all 5 houses in town in order to respond more quickly to any calls that came in. They stayed from 6pm Sunday evening until 1 pm Monday afternoon - 19 hours total. We thank the members for their dedication to protecting the borough and keeping our residents and businesses safe in this emergency and appreciate the time it takes away from being with their families and responsibilities at home
