Heat stroke in pets can go from 😎 to 🚨 real fast.
Like… under 30 minutes fast.
In fact, it’s one of the most dangerous - and underestimated - emergencies we see every summer.
Pets don’t cool down like we do.
Dogs rely on panting. Cats? They’ll hide it until it’s serious.
And when it’s hot or humid, that system can fail quickly.
Add in things like breed, age, weight, health, or poor airflow and it can escalate before you even realize something’s wrong. Early action saves lives. Call or visit VEG, we’re open 24/7 for any emergency.
Save this for the next heatwave and swipe to see the timeline for your dog and cat’s survival.

PSA: If it belongs in the toolbox, it probably shouldn’t be in your pet’s mouth. ❌ 🛠️
If your pet gets into something dangerous, don’t panic - call us at any time of the day (or night) to speak directly with a doctor.

If your pet thinks every open garage door is an invitation… then this post is for you. 🏠🛠️⚙️🐾
Unlike most areas of the home, garages, sheds, and workshops aren’t usually designed with pets in mind - and even a short DIY project can turn a garage into a temporary danger zone where your pet can step on sharp objects, ingest toxic chemicals, or swallow something jagged.
Swipe through for tips on how to pet-proof your garage before those Father’s Day projects start… and keep your DIY weekends worry free!🪚🐶☀️
Remember, VEG ER for Pets is open 24 hours on Father’s Day and every day!

Red-carpet discharge for Oakley 💫
Oakley came to us after severe stomach inflammation made him very sick and left him needing several days of hospitalization.
After days of treatment, cuddles, and support from his family by his side, Oakley was finally strong enough for the red carpet walkout he deserved. 🎓
His mom, who’s also a veterinary technician, even got to learn a few new things during his stay - proving that pet care is always a team effort. 🫶
Follow for more recovery stories and don’t miss next Saturday’s red carpet send-off. ❤️

“Making VEG ER for Pets a place where all people feel heard, supported, and valued” isn’t just something we say. I’s something we actively build, every single day.
At VEG, that commitment shows up in real ways: in the conversations we’re willing to have, the voices we choose to amplify, and the communities we create together. Our Black ERG, POWER, now over 100 members strong, is one of those spaces - driven by connection, advocacy, and the kind of support that turns words into action.
Juneteenth is a moment to honor freedom, resilience, and progress, but let’s be honest, progress doesn’t happen passively. It happens when people feel safe enough to speak, strong enough to be heard, and supported enough to lead.
That’s the standard. Not just today - every day.
