President Trump says a peace deal between the U.S. and Iran will be signed Sunday. We’ll see.

Whenever it comes, here’s what to look for:

Is the Strait of Hormuz truly open, without restrictions or a hidden Iranian tax? This is crucial for gas prices, energy supply, and long-term energy security.

Is Iran getting access to money it didn’t have before the war? That could come through direct payments, unfreezing assets, or sanctions relief.

Most importantly: are there enforceable commitments on nuclear weapons development and nuclear materials? A vague commitment with no enforcement mechanism is not enough when dealing with the Iranian regime.

I hope any peace deal is worthy of the costs already paid by American servicemembers and the economic burdens borne by Americans at home.

Had a great time joining friends and family to kick off the Palmdale Water District H2GO 5K at Lake Palmdale this morning!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support our community this morning, and congratulations to all the runners, including the members of who hit the course!

This year’s SCV Boys & Girls Club Gala brought together dedicated community members to raise money for after-school programming that serves thousands of kids across our region.

With over 2,000 students enrolled in their program and 9,000 additional kids served through additional outreach, the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita has an enormously positive impact on our community.

Thanks to Di and Jeffrey Thompson for hosting, and everyone at the Boys & Girls club for helping make a positive impact through mentorship and guidance for those who need it!

My colleagues and I are demanding answers from the administration on the spread of Ebola through Central Africa, how their cuts to foreign aid have impacted this crisis, and what their plans are to keep us here at home safe.

What starts as an outbreak thousands of miles away can reach our communities faster than ever because of global travel. Now, with over 500 people infected and 90 dead, the White House must explain how they intend to help our international partners with aid containment and treatment efforts while keeping American families protected.

I attended the 16th Annual WE Build Women’s Empowerment Build in Palmdale, where volunteers came together to help build homes for veteran families in the AV.

Events like this are so important – thank you to Home4Families and everyone who dedicated their time and energy to supporting those who served our country.

WATCH: I challenged the Energy Secretary after he repeatedly refused to acknowledge a simple fact: daytime solar is the cheapest source of electricity available today.

But, this debate is about more than energy prices. It's about whether America will lead the industries of the future or fall behind our global competitors.

It was great to congratulate the new Artemis III mission crew yesterday! They are expected to launch into low Earth orbit next year, with the goal of testing some of the critical functions we will need to bring astronauts back to the moon.

Congratulations to the Antelope Valley College’s Class of 2026! I had the honor of speaking at their graduation ceremony and wishing them luck on their journey ahead.

I offered them three pieces of advice: find your crew, remember that pushing through hard times can often lead to triumph on the other end, and invest as much in your family as you do in your career.

I have no doubt that this class of graduates will do great things for our region and beyond.

The majority in Congress is pushing another $70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol with no additional reforms.

At a time when Americans are worried about paying their bills, we should not be writing another blank check to ICE and Border Patrol.
