Everyone keeps asking us, "When's the date?" It's here! Cathy Hines Trout and I are finally celebrating our nearly four years of romance with a Juneteenth wedding celebration at our church home, New City Church of Los Angeles. We'll have a second ceremony at our new home church this coming fall. The ceremony begins at 2 pm tomorrow, June 19. We are excited that Pastor Kevin Haah is making a special trip from San Francisco to officiate and that Marcus Leonard Klotz will bless us with his musical gifts. Join us via FB live :-)

Today I was in a conversation with someone whose husband had served in Vietnam, returned home with PTSD, married her, then a year later took his own life. This Memorial Day let's remember those whose lives ended too soon after they returned home.

Pastor James Hur will provide the live music in Spanish and English this Saturday, May 18 from 1-3 pm at our community meal with free tacos. The location is Church4610, 162 N Ventura Rd, Port Hueneme. Join us! James was born in Korea and grew up as a missionary kid in Chile. His first language is Spanish and later in life learned English and Korean. In his youth, James went to Korea and lived there until he graduated college. After college, James came to the U.S. to study theology and met his beautiful wife, Nara. James and Nara have two kids. James serves as one of the pastors at New City Church of LA. He loves to lead worship in various languages and enjoys serving others from diverse communities.
