Flag Day is an important way we commemorate the adoption of the American flag on June 14th, 1777. And as the American flag has come to mean so many things to so many different people, the Thin Red Line flag has come to represent and honor the courage and sacrifice of firefighters and emergency personnel.

Yesterday, we were honored to have partners from Oro Valley Hospital stop by two stations to recognize our providers for their dedicated work on rapidly treating and transporting two different patients with stroke symptoms. Because of the quick work by these crews, the patients were given the best chance for a quality recovery.

The best way to make something less scary? Learn about it.
Some of our youngest community members got a closer look at the gear firefighters wear to stay safe while helping others.
It's a small moment, but those small moments build confidence, trust, and understanding.

Monsoon season starts June 15 and runs through September 30, bringing the potential for lightning, dust storms, strong winds, and flash flooding across our area.🌧🌩
A few important reminders to help keep everyone safe this season:
• Never drive through flooded streets
• Bring children and pets inside before storms arrive
• Keep kids away from washes and drainage areas
• Respect road closure signs and barricades. They’re there for a reason.
Now is also a good time to review your emergency plan and make sure your family knows what to do during severe weather.
When storms roll in, remember: Turn around, don’t drown.

Lifesaving skills can start in the classroom.
During the 2025–2026 school year, Golder Ranch Fire District completed 19 Skills Labs, reaching 776 students across our community.
We brought this program to schools like BASIS Oro Valley, giving students hands-on experience learning how to respond in emergency situations.
Students practiced:
🩹Applying tourniquets
🧑‍🚒Understanding the importance of protective gear
⚡️Compression-only CPR and AED use
🧯How fire extinguishers work and how fires behave
By bringing these skills into local schools, we’re helping empower the next generation with the confidence to act in an emergency.
