Nobody on MNC or World was trying to get arrested for skating. And nobody who was skating streets in the 90s was making their own rules. Willing to take a charge for skating? Absolutely. But, we were avoiding arrest at all costs back then.

Skaters back then followed the same rules as dealers, jackers, pimps, gangsters, prostitutes, and graffiti writers: street code. Street code is universal, it will never change no matter where you go or when you are. Suburbanites cosplaying as outlaw skaters is the skate industry's equivalent of "air jordans make you jump higher." Skating is supposed to make you more comfortable with yourself, not more comfortable with pretending to be something you're not.

If somebody thinks skating has to be illegal to be skating, they're not a skater. And they only have themselves to blame.

3 days you can count on this summer. For skaters, parents, residents who hunger for culture, and humans who believe in peace. There is no comparable event in NY, LA, or any city that claims to be bigger than us. Because nobody does it like Orange County—especially in the Summer!

We sold this event as a market, but it's really about the way skateboarding brings people together, and our community's power to choose peace in spite of endless incitements to choose opposition.

Shoutout , more info for yall soon 🫡

You don't need permission to go remember Marc today. In time, I will help our community understand how meaningful it is for this place to be here. And we will keep a candle lit for your light to shine forever sweet boy.
