What We Learned Through IEJI

One lesson became increasingly clear: workforce programs can help individuals navigate barriers, but they cannot remove systemic barriers on their own. That realization helped shape the work we are now advancing through EquityWork.

We’ve updated our name.

IEJI is now EquityWork Institute.

This shift reflects the full scope of our work—applying systems intelligence to redesign workforce systems, inform policy, and drive institutional change.

Our mission and focus on workforce equity and justice remain the same.

You may still see references to IEJI during this transition. Our legal name change is pending final state approval (expected June 2026).

Same work. Expanded frame. Clearer signal.

We are excited to share that "A Bridge to Life" Director Chris Farina's past documentary Seats at the Table with Dr. Andrew Kaufman was just given the "Best Feature Documentary" award at the 2026 New York Film and Actress Awards.

"Seats at the Table" follows a unique college course that brings university students and incarcerated youth together through the study of Russian literature.

Today, we honor the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—but honoring it means more than remembering history it means confronting the present.

Around the world—and right here at home—marginalized communities continue to face injustice, inequality, and exclusion—from racial and gender discrimination to the silencing of dissent, the struggle for dignity and freedom is far from over.

Let this day be a reminder: Human rights are not just global ideas. They are local responsibilities.

Stand up. Speak out. Act with compassion. Justice anywhere begins with awareness everywhere.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the FamilyWorks Lab, a novel initiative by IEJI designed to revolutionize the way workforce and family systems support justice-impacted parents.

Rather than focusing solely on job placement, this effort brings together employers, community partners, and system leaders to pilot innovative approaches to aligning employment, reentry, and family support.

The objective: to establish equitable workforce systems that benefit families.

At Impact Equitable Justice Inc (IEJI), we believe justice must be fair, accessible, and inclusive for all. Too often, systemic barriers keep communities from having a voice—and we’re here to change that. Founded on the principle of equity, we work alongside individuals, families, and organizations to challenge injustice, support those most affected, and build pathways to opportunity. Visit our website to learn more about our work or how you can join us in building a more just world.
