Things found in old books is a weekly segment where we show you curious ephemera that we’ve discovered while processing used books. This week’s Things Found in Old Books discoveries include a heartfelt note tucked inside a 1916 gift book, a beautiful blue-lined envelope that somehow survived for more than a century, a 1944 postcard announcing the Fullerton Public Forum during the final year of World War II, and a family snapshot whose story has been lost to time. We are a general used bookstore in Orange California. We opened the doors in 1990.

Things found in old books is a weekly segment where we show you curious ephemera that we’ve discovered while processing used books. This week’s Things Found in Old Books we uncover a 1955 doctor’s receipt from San Diego, a public health booklet on septic tanks and cesspools tucked inside an architecture book, and a newspaper clipping hidden in an 1892 history book. On one side is an article about the disappearing stones of the Mason-Dixon Line. On the other? A Victorian-era cartoon that reminds us how humor has changed… and how it hasn’t. This week’s Things Found in Old Books we found 1935 postcard from a YWCA camp , a 1939 church bulletin, a mysterious photographic negative that revealed a man holding a child, and a calling card carrying one lovely message.
