Welcome to our 2026 college intern Kailani! We are excited to have her work with us this summer! 😊

Kailani Sirois | Sputa’malx (she/her) is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Poundmaker Cree Nation. She is a senior at Dartmouth College pursuing a bachelor's degree in Native American and Indigenous Studies, modified with English and Creative Writing. Inspired by the power of Indigenous storytelling to preserve cultural memory and envision new futures, Kailani's studies and writing explore the connections between ancestral knowledge and contemporary Indigenous experiences. This summer, she is excited to work with the nsəlxcin Language Department to deepen her fluency and learn from elders and language teachers. She hopes to strengthen her understanding of the relationships among language, culture, and spirituality and carry that knowledge into her work and identity as an Indigenous woman.
