Happy Birthday, Alex! 🎉

There are people you work with, and then there are people who make the work better just by being in the room. Alex is firmly in the second category.

She has the kind of design instinct that's hard to put into words — on-trend without ever feeling like she's chasing something, and somehow always the person in the room with the idea nobody else thought of yet.

We're so glad she's ours. Happy birthday, Alex — hope today is as good as you make every day around here. 🤍🎂

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — and for us, this one is personal.

Our own Lisa is a breast cancer thriver, and we watched her lean on her community — especially Project Pink'd — through her journey. That experience changed how we think about what it means to show up for the people around us.

This month we’re thinking of every woman fighting, every thriver celebrating, and every person who has loved someone through it. 🤍

We’re easing into the season with intention — not a full overhaul, just a few thoughtful swaps. A chunky knit throw. A deep amber candle. Something with a little more weight and warmth than what we had out in July.

Fall doesn’t have to be a complete reset. Sometimes it’s just a layer.

Plants, fresh flowers, a bowl of fruit, a branch from the yard. It doesn’t have to be elaborate — it just has to be alive.

Biophilic design (the fancy term for bringing nature indoors) isn’t just an aesthetic trend. Research consistently shows that living elements in a space reduce stress, improve air quality, and make rooms feel more dynamic and layered.

Our rule: every room gets at least one living thing. Even the bathroom.

First day of fall and we’re already thinking in warm tones, layered textures, and spaces that feel like a deep exhale.

We’re not ready to put summer completely away — but we are very ready for linen throws, terracotta accents, and the kind of light that only happens in October.

What’s the first thing you change in your home when fall arrives?

Today we celebrate one of the three women who started it all — Happy Birthday to our co-founder and co-owner, Julie! 🎉

If you've ever walked into D3 and felt the energy in the room, that's Julie. She loves to laugh, she keeps all of our very different personalities in perfect balance, and she has a gift for making everyone around her feel genuinely seen and valued.

She is kind in the way that actually costs something. Compassionate in the way that makes clients feel truly heard. And talented in the way that makes the rest of us want to be better at what we do.

Beyond this studio, she is a wonderful mother, a fiercely loyal friend, and the kind of woman who inspires you just by being in the same room.

We are so lucky to call her our co-founder, our colleague, and our friend. Here's to you, Julie. 🤍🎂

Last Thursday, the team participated in our ASID NE/IA Chapter's Annual Project Awards Gala — and what a night it was.

Our team took home a combined 8 awards — 1 Bronze, 3 Silver, and 4 Gold. We are so incredibly proud. 🏆

We celebrated all the hard work our Brianne has put in as NE/IA ASID Chapter President this past year, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome Sarah into her new role as Communications Director on the chapter board. This community is in wonderful hands.

So proud of this community of designers and the incredible work being recognized. More details and project photos to come. 🤍

Twenty-five years ago, the world changed. Today we pause to honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward the unthinkable, and the resilience of a country that found its footing again.

Our office is open today, but our hearts are heavy and grateful in equal measure. Never forget. 🧡🧡
