I've more of those Spiced Pumpkin Turnovers right now, and the last of the batch of Bohemian Rye will be coming out of the oven between 11-11:30. Come get some!

My boss/uncle (buncle?) had a special request for a Husker party this afternoon: pumpkin turnovers. Unfortunately for me (but fortunate for you) he only wanted 8 of them.

I really didn't want a bunch of this pumpkin filling sitting around, so I polished off what was left and made an extra dozen for the store!

South O Only! Spiced Pumpkin Turnovers! (Not "pumpkin spice, " Spiced Pumpkin.)

Take pumpkin puree, add a pile of brown sugar, a bunch of pumpkin pie spices, and bake it in a puff pastry. Frost it, then sprinkle some more nutmeg on top. Good stuff!

It is a sourdough bread, and is more rye-y than our regular Sourdough Rye, but less dense. It's made with both whole fennel and caraway seed, and I'll be adding dill w**d as well!

To give you an idea of a good use for this bread, it's probably the best bread we make for a classic pastrami on rye.

If you've been trying to get a hold of the Pacific Street store these last few days, we're really sorry, the phones have been down. Can the South O store and they'll pass it along to the Pacific St store.

I just took out of the oven the last batch of Sourdough White bread that I'll be making for the foreseeable future. This is great bread for BLTs especially but is truly very versatile.
