Because I genuinely don’t think most people realize how this works…

When you click the “TOUR THIS HOME” or “CONTACT AGENT” button on Zillow or other home search sites…

👉 YOU are the product.

Your information is being sold as a lead to agents paying for buyer opportunities. And most of the time, the person calling you is NOT the listing agent and may have never even seen the property before.

A lot of buyers assume:
✔ They’re contacting the listing agent
✔ The agent knows the house inside and out
✔ They’re simply scheduling a showing directly through the listing

But that’s usually not what’s happening at all.

What’s really happening?
Your info is being routed into a lead system and sold to Realtors — sometimes multiple Realtors.

And listen… there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using Zillow. I’m not saying don’t use it. I’m just pulling back the curtain a little because most consumers genuinely have NO idea what’s happening on the back end.

I’ve had so many conversations with buyers who thought they were directly reaching the listing agent. Some didn’t want to “bother” the Realtor they actually planned to work with because they felt their timeline was too far out or they didn’t want to seem annoying.
