They might not be a Camaro or a Freightliner, but theyโ€™re definitely giving Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.

Not a shabby view for a working Friday night.

9/21/26: An accidental pedal push resulted in a vehicle hanging off a retaining wall at Oakbrook Plaza on NE 14th Street around 5:35 p.m.

Emergency responders, including Ladder 3, Rescue 3, Battalion Chief 22, and a Safety Officer, arrived at the scene.

To secure the vehicle and allow the driver to exit safely, firefighters used telescoping stabilization tools (Rescue 42s) on one side and a rope system (Bailey's Sling) anchored to Ladder 3.

Several factors contributed to the success of this operation, including the driver's decision to wait for responders before attempting to exit the vehicle and the fortunate absence of pedestrians on the sidewalk where the vehicle came to rest.

If you follow our page, you know that this was the second - could have been BAD! - incident we've responded to today. Please stay attentive to your surroundings at all times. Often, your decisions to prioritize safety make the difference.

๐ŸšจTRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE๐Ÿšจ (9/21/26 at 4:35 p.m.)
Traffic came to a standstill in the 1600 block of Silver Springs Boulevard after a semi traveling eastbound collided with low-lying utility lines, trapping two other vehicles in the aftermath.

The incident was reported at 2:15 p.m. when bystanders notified dispatch of a potential entrapment after the collision, which was initially believed to involve power lines.

Fortunately, what could have been a serious situation (if live power lines had been involved) turned out to be an inconvenient situation instead. Thanks to the vehicle occupants' cooperation and the prompt response of all agencies involved, the incident resulted only in a road blockage requiring a brief detour, with no injuries reported.

Special thanks to the Ocala Police Department for redirecting traffic and preventing the situation from escalating while we assessed the type of line involved. We also appreciate Ocala Electric Utility for confirming that the lines were not power lines, as well as COX, FDOT, and MCFR for their assistance on the scene.

Whatโ€™s more important than getting there a few seconds sooner? Getting there without inflicting harm on others or yourself.

Drive cautiously. Drive safe. And if you feel like you must speed due to an emergency, please get us on the โ€œcase.โ€ Weโ€™ll be there long before you, ready to work.

(OCALA, FL) Sept. 16, 2026 โ€“ Ocala Fire Rescue and Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at Arnold Truss Manufacturing, located at 2250 NW 42nd St. The emergency call was received at 5:38 p.m., reporting flames engulfing the commercial structure.

Ocala Fire Rescue's Engine 1, Squad 7, Ladder 3, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer responded. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully involved medium-sized sawmill shed, with access restricted by a bolted gate. The Safety Officer assisted Engine 1 in cutting the chain to gain entry while additional crews conducted a secondary 360-degree assessment of the structure.

Marion Country Fire Rescue crews from Stations 1, 11, 19, and 21 arrived shortly after, established a water supply, and aided in the fire attack.

Because of severe fire conditions and a partial collapse of the structure, crews transitioned to a defensive strategy to extinguish the fire. Despite these challenges, firefighters had water on the fire within four minutes of arrival.

The fire was under control at 5:56 p.m., preventing the flames from spreading to surrounding structures.

No injuries were reported.

Marion County Sheriff's Office also responded.

Weโ€™re not saying we had the best students to read to, but we can't deny that our classrooms were filled with some of the coolest kids in town: Madison Streetโ€™s youngest scholars, VPKโ€“1st graders!

Thanks to a special invitation, Fire Chief Clint Welborn, Deputy Chief Richie Lietz, and Captain Thiago Novaes had the honor of starting their morning with a dose of uninhibited energy and curiosity.

With books in hand, they celebrated the gift of literacy alongside our young stakeholders, reading and encouraging the habit of expanding ideas through critical thinking, with a little help from Clifford the Big Red Dog and Pete the Cat.

Seeing the excitement on the studentsโ€™ faces as they listened to the stories and shared their theories about the "plot twists" to come reminded us of the importance of investing in our children.

To the teachers, students, and staff, thank you for making us feel so welcome. We were honored to be part of such a meaningful morning!
