Absolute Health is committed to providing Ocala families, and those of the surrounding communities. Elyaman, known to his patients as “Dr. E” .

Absolute Health was founded in 2006 through the extraordinary vision of Dr. Yousef A. We specialize in caring for both children and adults, making Absolute Health a convenient healthcare solution for your whole family. We maintain separate waiting areas for children and adults to ensure your comfort and we are committed to keeping wait times to a minimum. Our approach to healthcare is unique. At Absolute Health, we combine both functional medicine and integrative medicine through a systems oriented approach. Rather than simply treating an isolated set of symptoms, our practitioners form a therapeutic partnership with patients to determine the underlying causes for illness. This is accomplished by taking the time necessary to discover our patients' medical histories and examine the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors which can influence long term health and complex chronic disease. Our treatment plans incorporate the latest in Modern Medicine as well as Natural and Alternative treatments that have been found to contribute significantly to overall health and well-being. It is our mission to provide you and your family with the ABSOLUTE best in healthcare.

COMMENT PODCAST for the full show.

A lot of women hear “PCOS” and picture one very specific patient:

Overweight.
Acne.
Facial hair.
Hair loss.

But PCOS does not always look like the old textbook picture.

Some women with PCOS are lean. They may look completely healthy from the outside, while dealing with irregular cycles or other signs of hormonal dysfunction.

That is why the diagnosis is not made by appearance alone.

And despite the name, you do not have to have polycystic ovaries on ultrasound to have PCOS.

That was one of the most important points Dr. Wendy Warner made in our conversation.

Sometimes the patient who does not “look like PCOS” is exactly the patient who gets overlooked.

Picture it… Ocala, Florida. 2006. 😂

Meet Sophia, our Golden Girls-inspired scarecrow created to help celebrate a pretty special milestone.

This October, Absolute Health turns 20 years old.

Twenty years of patients, team members, challenges, growth, friendships, and a whole lot of memories.

So when our team had a scarecrow contest at our recent ACO event, they decided Sophia should help tell the story of our Golden Years: 2006 to 2026.

She may not have won the scarecrow contest, but she absolutely understood the assignment.

And of course, there was only one way for her to sign off:

“Thank you for being a friend.” 💛

Here’s to 20 years of Absolute Health, and to everyone who has been part of the story.

🏆 Proud night for the Absolute Health team.

At a recent ACO event, Absolute Health was recognized for continuity of care, something that means a great deal to us.

To me, good care is not just being there when someone is sick. It is staying connected with patients over time, following up consistently, and helping address problems earlier rather than later.

Several members of our team were there that evening. This photo happens to be Chelsea, our Clinical Manager, and me, along with one more special guest. 😂

Her name is Sophia.

She was part of the fun from the event’s scarecrow contest, and she has a story of her own that we will share in another post.

We are grateful for the recognition, and even more grateful for the team behind it.

A meaningful milestone to share on International Podcast Day. 🎙️

The FMP Essentials Show has officially surpassed 10,000 podcast downloads.

As of September 28, 2026:

• 10,000+ podcast downloads
• 222,518 total YouTube views
• 20,029 full podcast episode views on YouTube
• 4,524+ YouTube watch hours
• 3,207 hours spent watching full podcast episodes
• 1,645 YouTube subscribers
• 860,000+ YouTube impressions
• Viewers from 50+ countries

One statistic I find especially interesting:

Long-form videos represent only about 9% of our YouTube views, yet they generate approximately 74% of total watch time.

Our long-form audience watches for more than 10 minutes on average, and over the last 90 days that increased to 11 minutes 11 seconds.

In just the most recent 90 days, the channel generated:

• 1,100 watch hours
• 195 new subscribers
• 5,966 full-episode podcast views

We now have 29 full episodes in The FMP Essentials Show podcast playlist, with conversations on autoimmunity, thyroid disease, inflammatory bowel disease, artificial intelligence, Lyme disease, metabolic health, and more.

I’m grateful for the numbers, but what matters most is harder to measure:

How many times did someone hear an idea, rethink a clinical problem, and take something useful back into their practice or their own life?

That is why I started The FMP Essentials Show.

Thank you to everyone who listens, watches, shares, and to every guest who has trusted me with a conversation.

10,000 downloads is a milestone. We’re just getting started.

Who should I interview next?

❤️ What Your Cholesterol Test Isn’t Telling You

Is a normal cholesterol number always a sign of good heart health? Not necessarily. Your standard cholesterol panel is only one piece of the cardiovascular health picture.

Join Dr. Yousef Elyaman for our upcoming Absolute Health lecture, where we will take a closer look at advanced cardiovascular markers and risk factors, including ApoB, inflammation, homocysteine, omega 3 status, and more.

You will learn what these markers can tell you, why they may matter, and how they can provide a more complete picture of your cardiovascular health.

📅 Thursday, October 15, 2026
⏰ 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
📍 In Person + Virtual

This educational lecture is open to both established patients and those interested in learning more about their heart health.

COMMENT PODCAST for the full show.

Irregular periods in a teenager are not always abnormal.

But here’s when I start paying closer attention:

Her cycles became regular… and then they became irregular again.

That tells you something changed.

In my conversation with Dr. Wendy Warner, she made a great point:

If the body had already established a rhythm and then lost it, ask what changed upstream?

Stress?

Cortisol?

Nutrition?

Training?

Sleep?

The goal is not just to label the cycle “irregular.”

It is to ask:

Why did a previously normal pattern change?

That is where the clinical investigation gets interesting.

Most people assume more exercise is always better.

But when it comes to period symptoms, that may not be true.

Dr. Wendy Warner made an important point in our conversation:

The patients she sees with the worst cramps are often at the extremes.

They either are not exercising at all…

or they are over-exercising.

In younger women especially, too much training can become another physiologic stressor, with effects on cortisol, inflammation, and blood sugar.

The lesson is not to stop exercising.

It is to recognize that more is not always better.

Sometimes the body needs the right dose of stress, not the maximum dose.

A lot of people assume bloating, gas, or bowel changes automatically mean parasites. But that is not always the case.

We had a full house at Absolute Health for our recent community class, with additional attendees joining us live on Zoom.

We talked about parasites, but also about something just as important: several common problems can look very similar, including SIBO, post-infectious IBS, food intolerance, poor digestion, and even medications.

That is why the real question is not just, “Do I have a parasite?”
It is also, “What else could be causing these symptoms?”

Great turnout, thoughtful questions, and a really engaging discussion.
