Realism has been something I’ve wanted to achieve since the beginning of my tattoo career. The way the shadows align and the pure-raw emotion it captivates has always drawn me towards it.

However, I was always told, “no that’s too hard for your level as a tattooist” or “it’s a different type of tattooing, stick to fineline and anime for now”.

And while that can seem discouraging, I have always been a very stubborn and persistent woman.

So, as any sane artist would do, I ignored the side comments and focused. And I spent many hours dedicated to my craft.

Practicing on paper, asking questions no matter if I felt stupid for asking them, watching others tattoo realism on youtube and in person, tattooing on fake skin in private, tattooing free tattoos on my friends, listening to hard critiques, and above all else: never giving up. Because nobody can tell you what is and isn’t possible.

So how ironic and wonderful is it that my first fully paid realism piece was Jesus himself? And on a client and friend that has been with me since my apprenticeship. I really want to thank you, Andres Garcia | Pop Culture Artist for always supporting and believing in me. Not just today with this piece, but even when I messed up tattoos on your arm in my apprenticeship. To Hito | Anime Tattoo Artist who pushed me to ignore the bad comments and keep learning and trying as I learned realism. And to my amazing coworkers ❄️ Chelsea Winter Burr ❄️ Florida Tattoo Artist and Randy Joffre for always giving me advice and never giving up on me. 🙇🏻‍♀️

I am able to show you my hard work up close and personal, and I am now able to finally open my books up to taking on more clients who enjoy this art style.

After a lot of heartfelt thought, I’ve decided to begin a new chapter in my tattoo journey. Dun-dun-duuuunnn…

Starting next Wednesday (June 3rd), I’ll officially be tattooing at Stranger Flowers Yet! And I’m so excited! 😆 A lot of my good friends work here, who I deeply admire, and the stars have aligned for me to have the honor of being part of their tattoo family too! 🌷🌱

While this is so exciting, leaving my beautiful girlies at Beauty Affair is so bittersweet. I’m going to really miss them 🫂 I’m incredibly grateful for my time at Beauty Affair and for all the amazing and talented girls there who have supported me and made my stay with them such a special part of my career 🥹🫶🏼

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support my art and my career; trusting me with your skin, but not only that, but your friendship as well. Tattooing has been such a special gift in my life and you all make that possible. I can’t wait to create in this new space and welcome you all into my new tattoo home! 🩷

this tattoo is probably one of the most meaningful tattoos i’ve done, to the point that writing this post has me all emotional 🥺
a few weeks ago, i was trusted with tattooing her horse, benjamin, on my friend miss cayla, and within the design, she wanted to include a cancer ribbon to show her survival.
this was something she had been thinking about for a while and when she came to me with the concept, i felt so honored and overwhelmed with emotions.
cayla, you are one of the strongest, kindest souls i know. you are a fighter, a paralympian, and someone who continues to inspire me in more ways than i can even explain. after everything you’ve been through, you still shine bright and when i hang out with you the room is always filled with laughter and warmth.
being able to create something that represents your journey, your strength, and the bond you have with your horse… that’s the kind of tattooing that reminds me why i love what i do. i’m so happy we are friends 🤍 thank you for trusting me with this tattoo
