Monet called his garden the finest thing he ever made. πΏ
He built the arched Japanese footbridge over the water garden at Giverny and then painted it for decades. The 1899 series shows it draped in wisteria above a pond crowded with lilies, everything pressed close to the surface so water, foliage, and reflection run together.

Hands over a card that says something before you do. π
William Morris designed Strawberry Thief in 1883 after watching thrushes raid the strawberry beds in his kitchen garden at Kelmscott Manor. It took him years, because he insisted on the difficult indigo-discharge method instead of cheaper chemical dyes. It became the most popular furnishing fabric he ever made.

Autumn, painted at full scale. π
O'Keeffe spent her 1920s summers at Lake George, and the fall there gave her a subject she returned to again and again: single fallen leaves, close up, filling the frame, treated with exactly the same seriousness as her flowers.
What looks at first like a study of a leaf resolves into curve, edge, and color.

Van Gogh painted Almond Blossom as a gift. πΈ
February 1890. His brother Theo and sister-in-law Jo had just had a son and named him Vincent. Almond trees are the first to flower in southern France, and he chose them deliberately as a sign of new life. The original hangs at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
Small enough to disappear into a bag, bright enough to find again.

Nobody really looks at a flower. So O'Keeffe painted one big enough that you had no choice. πΊ
Red Canna is among the best known of these, its petals opening into bands of red and orange that read as pure color before they read as a plant.
Enough room for a day out, small enough that you forget you're wearing it.

Bright, joyful, and a little defiant. ππΊ
The decorated sugar skull belongs to DΓa de los Mu***os, the Mexican tradition of meeting death with color and marigolds rather than fear. Frida filled her home and her paintings with that spirit her whole life.
Officially licensed through the Frida Kahlo family foundation, this pattern draws on the flowers and symbols that surrounded her at the Casa Azul in Mexico City.
