Progressive Martial Arts Academy - Oak Ridge

Our Lil’ Dragons program is designed for our youngest martial artists (typically ages 4–7). In these classes, we teach real martial arts techniques and concepts in a simple, age appropriate way that helps children develop skills such as balance, focus, confidence, and self control.

Kids absolutely love training at this age, and martial arts has an amazing way of teaching them to do hard things, overcome challenges, and build discipline while still having fun.

Our Tuesday/Thursday 3:45 PM Lil’ Dragons class is almost at capacity. We currently have just 2 spots remaining before we begin a waiting list. We also have openings in a few other classes, and tuition rates for new students will be increasing for the first time since 2023 on August 1.

If you’re interested in enrolling your child, the first step is a free private introductory lesson with a PMA instructor. During this one on one session, we introduce your child to the structure of the class, teach them some basic techniques, and help them get comfortable in the environment while having a great time.

Afterward, you can decide if the program feels like a good fit before enrolling. A uniform is included with the first month of tuition.

This is our traditional Kenpo camp, and this year marks the 13th time we’ve run it. The kids love it, and they leave the week with a big boost in their Kenpo skills.

PMA Oak Ridge took a small team down to Huntsville this weekend for the Chewjitsu Open! We are so proud of the effort and toughness displayed by all of our competitors yesterday. We finished the day with 16 year old Judah Phillips competing in the adult division. He fought well but lost his first two no gi matches, then battled back to take 3rd place in the division before going undefeated in the gi and bringing home 1st place!

That’s a wrap on our Spring Competition Season! Time for No Gi Summer, the PMA Summer Showdown, and then the competition team will pick it back up in August for our Fall season. Congratulations to all of our competitors on a great season!

PMA has 4 new blue belt girls! Mollie, Emily, Lily, and Lilah all turn 16 this year and have moved into the adult ranks for Jiu Jitsu. Congratulations girls!!!
