I’ve brought my AAPI identity to the forefront by choosing not to separate it from my design voice. As someone born and raised in India, that visual and cultural language comes through organically in our textiles and craftsmanship—even when it meant not fitting the trends. My work is deeply rooted in heritage-based artisan techniques from India and Nepal, and I’ve kept that influence visible. Design can be both globally relevant and unapologetically rooted—and the work itself can confidently carry that narrative.
