We are pleased to announce that NPL was the recipient of the 2026 Read Japan Project! We have 125 books about Japan that have been written by authoritative experts that have been evaluated by an International Panel. The books will be on display for the entire month of June. Some will be on top of the Adult International Collection and in the book display on the 2nd Floor and others will be a part of the Libraries are for Everyone display on the 1st Floor.
NPL is only the 2nd public library in Michigan to be awarded this honor. A huge thank you to Deputy Consul General Yamane for attending the unveiling ceremony and the Consul General's Office for nominating NPL!
The Read Japan Project is an international initiative dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of Japan through books. The project is administered by the Tokyo Foundation with financial support from The Nippon Foundation. Together, these organizations work to foster global understanding by providing readers with access to high-quality materials about Japan’s history, culture, society, politics, literature, language, manga, business, and the arts.

We can't wait to see you at Community Fest tonight!!
⚠️ Just as a reminder, our parking may be significantly busier than normal due to the event. Please allow for extra travel time and expect limited parking availability. We appreciate your understanding!
Novi Community Fest is TODAY!
The weather is perfect, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!
To make sure you spend less time in your car and more time enjoying the festivities, here is a quick guide to getting here smoothly:
Expect heavy traffic on 10 Mile Road between Novi Road and Taft during the event. If you are traveling across town, we highly recommend taking an alternate route to bypass the event area.
Parking & Shuttle: Free parking is available in the highlighted lots on the map. A FREE shuttle, provided by People's Express, will be running continuously from 4-8pm. To use the shuttle, park in the south Novi High School lot off Taft Rd.
All the event details, parking, and activities can be found at cityofnovi.org/novifest.
