We are living in uncertain times that bring feelings of fear and mistrust. Interestingly, the art world often feels the impact of economic challenges first, yet it remains a powerful source of joy and inspiration. No matter what’s happening in the news or on social media, art is a constant—fostering free thinking, encouraging understanding, and creating a space of safety and tolerance. It softens boundaries and helps us appreciate the nuances beyond black and white.

Most importantly, art brings joy. While we are all aware of financial uncertainties and the sacrifices that may be required to maintain our quality of life, if art brings you happiness, consider investing in that. The value of nurturing your own well-being through art is immeasurable—now and always.

Contemplative stroll

The motherland showed off her full repertoire (weather-wise) within the first week of my visit. First, it was sweltering. Hot enough to long for an Ohio-gray-day. Promptly on its heels, I was gifted with delightful mist rolling under threatening clouds. Thank you, Cape Town. I have missed you.
