Happy National Best Friends Day! 💛
There's something special about the lunch table. It's where inside jokes start, snacks get traded, and the best friendships get built one cafeteria tray at a time.
Today we're celebrating the kids across the country who turn lunch into the best part of the day. The ones who save a seat. The ones who share their Zee Zees. The ones who make the cafeteria feel like home.
We saved the loudest one for last. 🎉
School District of South Milwaukee closed out our 2026 Grab the Tab tour, and we showed up to throw them Zee Best Day Ever and celebrate the $44,274 in student meal debt we're wiping off their books.
This video has it all. The cafeteria team finally getting the recognition they deserve. The kids losing their minds. The kind of moment that reminds you why any of this matters.
Ten schools. $150,000 erased. One unforgettable season.

The School District of South Milwaukee was sitting on $44,274 in student meal debt.
Not anymore.
We brought the Grab the Tab crew in for our final stop of 2026 and got to watch a whole school community let out a breath they didn't know they were holding. The lunch team. The kids. The roar when that check came out. Unreal.
Ten schools. $150,000 erased.

$17,581. That's the number that was following Deer Valley's families to the lunch line every day.
We flew out to make it disappear. And what we walked into, the nutrition team that has been stretching everything they have, the director who couldn't get the words out, the students who turned the whole cafeteria into a celebration, that's the part we won't forget.
When you take that number off a school's shoulders, you're not just clearing a balance. You're giving families room to breathe and giving kids permission to just show up and be kids at lunch.
DVUSD got that today. One more school to go!

$17,581 in student meal debt was sitting on Deer Valley's (DVUSD) books. Not anymore.
We flew out to deliver the check in person and what happened inside that building is the reason we keep doing this. A nutrition team that has been quietly carrying so much. Students who turned a regular lunch period into the loudest room in the school.

We flew in with one mission and a really big check. But the moment we walked through the doors, it stopped being about the check. It was about the nutrition team that has been showing up for these kids day after day. The principal who got quiet when it finally hit. The students who turned the cafeteria into a celebration.
When a kid can sit down at lunch and just be a kid, that matters. Jackson County's families got that back today.
We've got more schools to visit. This is just getting started.
