Buttercup Home Styling

Such a fun time designing this table for Make It Home Bay Area annual Salvage and Style Gala. More photos to come of the mixing of China. This was such a great fundraiser in support of furnishing homes for community members in need. Those who are making a fresh start and building new lives, we support you. Furnishing a home brings stability, peace and dignity.

Spending my Sunday exploring a book from my bookcase that I have yet to spend the time reading. “Rattan” Rizzoli Publications shows us the many personalities of Rattan Furniture. As explained by Lulu Lytle the glamour of rattan shines through in sophisticated and beautiful Interiors. This traditional and sustainable material exudes, laid-back elegance, and an air of understated relaxation, and which is increasingly popular with interior designers of today. For me, I love integrating rattan into a design project. I appreciate the texture, warmth, and flexibility it provides. Not to mention the sustainability of the material. Whether new or vintage pieces it can easily be modernized or personalized with special fabrics. I have a current project that I think is going to get a couple little special rattan pieces added in!

When building out a design plan for our clients, my number one priority is listening. What are their needs, goals and preferences for each space. How do you live here? How do you want it to feel? Asking all of the questions gets us close to what they are dreaming of. This is a project we are working on for the loveliest of people, recreating bathrooms, laundry room and furniture plans.

For this Carmel Valley, California furnishings project, we considered many elements when creating our designs. Most importantly, how our clients live, along with the surrounding landscape. Our goal was to make this space feel collected, timeless and comfortable, while remaining beautiful and layered. We relied on our trusted vendors for this design proposal. Cowtan & Tout Manuel Canovas Colefax and Fowler Moss Home Regina Andrew Detroit | Luxury Lighting & Home Décor When furnishing a home for our clients it is so important for us to listen to the goals and priorities of the clients. Scale is something that is not second nature for most but it’s what we do…determine the size and scale of furnishings for the room and how these pieces “fit” our clients. Not only in personality, but how pieces fit their personal size. Bringing the outdoors in created cohesion between in and out.

I am so proud of this girl of mine! When the girls were young, we always had fun baking projects happening in the kitchen. But Quinn took it to the next level! Through love and and determination and a place to work through her thoughts, she has refined her baking and pastry skills to a serious level. She has launched her new homegrown business, Pookies Pastries 🧁🍰🍪 I am so proud of her! She has had lots of taste testers, and new customers and the jury is out…She has special skills! If you are looking for a dessert, made with all natural and organic ingredients to wow your friends or guests, reach out to Quinn.

SUMMER is here! Even if not yet “official”. These pics are inspiring me to do a few projects in my own home. Sometimes it’s easier if instead of looking at the big picture, we just take one small area and try to gain inspiration and move forward with integrating a design. At my house this summer, I am planning on doing a spruce up of my outdoor bar. Integrating potted plants, vintage barware per usual and adding a new-to-me tray. I have an art project cooking that will run the length of my hallway. Ooo and adding drapery panels to my living room. A few finishing touches add big impact! What projects do you have up your sleeve?
