Abbey For Novato

This past Tuesday I was sworn in as a Trustee for NUSD. I am honored to represent our community and look forward to serving alongside the rest of the Board as we work for ALL of Novato’s kids. Let’s get to work!

Just back from a few days offline but I wanted to share my immense gratitude for the outpouring of support I've received from the Novato community since the start of my campaign. This campaign wasn't really about me but rather it was about our kids and the kind of schools our kids deserve: schools which are safe places for all kids to learn and grow. I am so proud to be a part of such a passionate community who showed up in so many ways to ensure that those in leadership positions make informed decisions and have our children's best interests at heart.

Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of this campaign - those of you who knocked on doors, wrote postcards, honked your horn at our sign holders, emailed and asked "How can we help?" or reached out to tell us something like "I've never been political but this is too important." Thank you for your votes and for your vote of confidence.

There is more work we need to do as a community moving forward to support our schools. If you'd like to stay connected, I encourage you to follow NUSD happenings on social media (follow Novato Unified School District in addition to your local schools and their PTAs), tune in to NUSD Board Meetings (either in person or online - info is below), and attend athletic, music, arts and other events happening at your local schools! Whether you have kids in our schools or not, our schools are an important part of our Novato community and we should all be invested.

Hey team! Thanks for all the well wishes and support! Abbey and team are taking a few days off of social media but we will be back first thing next week ready to continue the work of supporting ALL of Novato’s kids! We will connect with you all and follow up with messages and notices! Take care of your mental health and Happy Veterans Day to everyone! Respect to those who have served and peace and love to all of our neighbors!

It has been a looooong few months and I’m glad it is just about over. Time to move past this and start working for ALL Novato kids!

Just a heads up: some of our wonderful team are out picking up our signs and I don’t want anyone to worry about sign stealing. Ever again. I mean seriously.

Picus elected to Novato school board The seat was vacated by longtime trustee Derek Knell, who declined to seek a new term. Novato Unified serves more than 7,000 students at two comprehensive high schools, one continuation high school…

Abbey wins!!! 75%-25% I think after all late ballots are counted she wins bigger!!!

Make sure to vote!!! Only 37% of votes turned in. We need every vote we can get!!!
