Talking about a real stud, my dear student and black belt Ed Peters, regardless of a stroke 3 yrs back, he did his rehab, and got back on the mats again! Jiu jitsu is for life, and those who truly love it will find a way to do it, no matter what adversity they may go thru at a point in time. Before making excuses for not showing up to another session, look around and be reminded there are many whose challenges are much bigger than yours, and still choose to come to train! I respect those greatly and can only be inspired by them! Thank you for your example and dedication, Mr. Peters!

Growth isn't linear, it doesn't happen in a straight line, we have achievements we have setbacks, but we must keep pushing forward, getting back up and pushing through to the next level, that's the only way to grow.

It's not bad to be hard on yourself, as long as you also celebrate the victory's.

Self-Esteem Isn’t Given - It’s Earned. Being hard on yourself isn’t the problem. The real issue is forgetting to celebrate your wins while only replaying old criticism. We often cling to negative memories from childhood and ignore the positive moments that shaped us too. Growth doesn’t come from silencing self-criticism - it comes from balancing it with self-respect and acknowledgment of progress. Here’s the truth most people miss: self-esteem isn’t built from praise. You can be told you’re brilliant, talented, or beautiful your entire life and still not believe it. And on the flip side, doubt and criticism can sometimes become fuel. Real self-esteem is internal - it’s earned through action, resilience, and proving things to yourself, not the world. The strongest self-esteem comes from doing hard, meaningful things - especially when no one’s watching. Not virtue signaling. Not validation. Just knowing deep down that you showed up, pushed through discomfort, and contributed to something bigger than yourself. Do that consistently, and confidence becomes unshakable. #selfesteem #confidence #selfgrowth #mindsetshift #mentalstrength #personaldevelopment #innerwork #motivationdaily #selfworth #healingjourney #discipline #growthmindset #reelsviral #reelsinstagram #tonyrobbins #confident #motivationalpage #motivations
