Nitya Karma – Daily duties
Naimittika Karma – Occasional duties

Project Self Music is delighted to share a new lyrical video of Harivarasanam, the sacred lullaby of Lord Ayyappa, on this auspicious first day of this year’s 41-day Mandala season.
Ayyappa represents the One Supreme Ishvara in a Yogic Warrior form — the compassionate protector who harmonizes the five elements and dissolves inner and outer suffering.
Harivarasanam is sung every night at the famous Sabarimala Shrine, which attracts nearly 30–40 million devotees annually during the Mandala season. The original version was immortalized by the legendary Dr. K. J. Yesudas, whose voice gave this lullaby its divine place in millions of hearts.
In this offering, K. I. Alexander — who leads the music team of Project Self and is the founder of Sadhaka School of Music, NY — brings profound devotion and clarity to this timeless composition. His rendition carries the same spiritual tenderness that makes this song so beloved.

We began our sacred journey into Soundarya Lahari, Adi Shankaracharya’s timeless masterpiece that celebrates the divine beauty, grace, and power of the Mother Goddess.
This first session introduced the origins of the text, the essence of Satyam–Shivam–Sundaram, and how true transformation happens through sādhanā, not theory. We also began our Navaratri practice of mantra and meditation — a perfect way to prepare the heart for devotion.
