Thanks for the highlight! Go follow Unit 5 Music Parents!

We’ve had a great start to the school year! Besides singing together, we’ve been getting to know each other a bit better - pics are from Chamber retreat and Mixed Chorale / Treble Choir “speed dating” activity 😊

Did you know the Unit 5 Music Parents have a new page? Please give them a follow - they’re doing great things to support music education in Unit 5!

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! Our choir board met to plan some events for the year - it’s going to be great! Stay tuned for upcoming events! #2627

Wednesday in NYC: we spent our day in Downtown / Lower Manhattan, starting with a performance at the One World Observatory at the top of the Freedom Tower! It was pretty surreal to sing the lyrics “history is happening in Manhattan and we just happen to be in the greatest city in the world” with that city below us! After lunch at Hudson Eats, we visited the 9-11 Memorial Museum, wandered around Chinatown and Little Italy, and ate a delicious Chinese family-style dinner at House of Joy. We ended our evening at spectacular performances of Lion King and Hadestown!! We are leaving NYC with lots of memories!

We should be performing in the thr next 45 minutes - stay tuned! Just arriving at the building.

Tuesday in NYC: tours of Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, lunch in Central Park, & the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After a delicious dinner at Carmine’s, we went to spectacular productions of Aladdin and Ragtime!!

Due to a change in itinerary, our scheduled performance at 8:15 am CT is delayed. Will update you as soon as we know!

We started out our Monday in NYC with a FANTASTIC Q&A session with Daniel Quadrino (currently playing Boq in Wicked) and Dan Micciche, veteran Broadway performer and current Associate Music Director for Wicked! The choir students then put on a beautiful concert at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine (you can see it on our page!). After some free time in Times Square and Rockefeller Center, we boarded a dinner dance cruise around the harbor and had a blast!
