Waiting Room Records

The folks at Reagle Beagle Records came by last week to drop off some copies of the latest release on the label! Grab your copy of The Mustard Seed Project in the shop or on the site today!

Only 100 pressed. Numbered, signed, and pressed on exclusive Loveless Pink 180g vinyl — and it comes with the full album on a collectible NFC floppy disk. Tap the disk to your phone and the record plays. When these are gone, they’re gone for good. “The Mustard Seed Project” follows the journey of the average blue-collar hustler. A story about love, loss and the lust for a heart in the hood. These are the portraits of the old Chicago: Hymns of the held down, heroines and heroin…but we still hope…

We also just got some new heaving. stuff in the shop this week! Grab a CD or Cassette copy of Why Are You Still Dreaming? Or grab a limited edition VHS! All in-store and online now!

Includes the full discography of experimental post-hardcore band ‘heaving.’ from Peoria, IL.
A limited edition VHS featuring faces of you, if i cried out, and carsick as a closed-loop trilogy, plus lyric versions of each video from the Peoria band heaving. Also includes an hour of behind-the-scenes footage from the writing, recording, and filming of the new EP which will only be released on these tapes.

It’s a crazy good week for local music at the shop! Here’s another one to highlight! Urbana’s Barreleye dropped off a few copies of One Eye Glitters! Grab your copy now in the shop and on the site!

Urbana trio Barreleye see their cult debut album remastered and parcelled up for a vinyl release on London’s enduring home for sonic oddballs, Kit Records.’One Eye Glitters’ finds likeable upstarts Joseph, Owen and Otis holding on for dear life as they navigate the precipice between careening kraut and wigged out jazz. A cheeky manifesto dictates the tone for this feat, as our lads drag the likes of Zappa, Tortoise and Holger Czukay with them over the lip of the waterfall. The resulting merriment - feline squeals, radiophonic shimmer and flutter, the undignified churn of tapes unspooling - is underpinned by a piston-like rhythm section that tugs and tows our barrel from one set of rapids to the next. While the thunderous twinkle of tracks like ‘Fingers’ and ‘ESP’ could go down well on a poorly lit 4am dancefloor, all bets are off by the time we reach ‘Swip’ - a sort of Sabbath-meets-Blurt shaggy dog story, that brings ‘One Eye Glitters’ to a slowly drifting, introspective close.
