We are an EWTN affiliate and invite you to join us by listening and growing in your Christian faith. We are a listener supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is legally known as 2820 Communications, Inc. This network was created in response to Pope St. John Paul II's call for the laity to take co-responsibility in the spreading of God's Word through the catechetical and evangelical work of the Church. It broadcasts to the Diocese of Peoria with the approval of Bishop Louis Tylka. Catholic Spirit Radio's two-fold mission is to deepen the knowledge of Catholics and to share the goodness, truth, and beauty of the True Faith in order to bring others to Christ through the Catholic Church. Our goal is to catechize Catholics and evangelize Christians of other faith traditions, the unchurched, and non-believers relying on Holy Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church as the pillar and bulwark of truth (cf. 1 Timothy 3:15). On this episode of Being Catholic, Bob Johnston and his wife Lynn discuss why the Bible should be taught in public schools, how the Scriptures were handed down through Catholic tradition, and how tradition informs interpretation on issues like the sanctity of life, abortion, euthanasia, and the death penalty.
They also touch on recent news items (a claimed Noah's Ark excavation), the Texas curriculum debate over mandatory Bible readings, and preview future episodes exploring how the Church compiled the Bible and the ongoing role of tradition in Christian belief.
Deacon Al shares personal stories about trees and tools, then leads listeners through the 27th Sunday readings—Isaiah, Philippians, and Matthew—unpacking the vineyard parable and its call to repent and bear fruit for God.
The episode connects everyday life to Scripture, urging teens to reflect on their role in the "vineyard" and to return to Christ with love and commitment.

What a beautiful day for the Catholic Church!
We were blessed to attend the beatification event for Blessed Fulton J. Sheen and to witness this incredible moment firsthand. It was truly something special to see so many Catholics gathered together in prayer and celebration.
As a Catholic radio apostolate, it was especially meaningful for us to be there and remember the tremendous impact Blessed Fulton Sheen had through his preaching and use of the media to spread the Catholic Faith.
We are thankful for the opportunity to have been part of such a memorable day and to celebrate the life of a man who dedicated himself to bringing souls closer to Christ.
Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us! 🙏
